When we started TheBetCommunity we had three people running things. Due to work commitments it is now only myself who runs the website and Twitter page. I’m sure you can appreciate it takes up a lot of my time. My plan is to continue as a free tipster. I enjoy researching my selections and providing winners for all of you guys. I know by the direct messages and emails I receive that there are plenty of you who appreciate my efforts and if you wish to buy me a beer then you can do so by clicking the yellow box. You are under no obligation to do so, it’s completely your choice. Thanks in advance.

Another winning NAP yesterday with Grey Dawning. Apart from that though, there wasn’t much to shout home about. Let’s see if we can land another NAP today, plus a few horses to go with it…

1:30 – A tough race to open with but I’ve just sided with Storm Heart who I think ran a really good race to finish 2nd to Kargese last time out. Storm Heart had a wide trip for most of the way around and was looking dangerous before missing the 2nd or 3rd last hurdle. This put him on the back foot slightly and allowed the smooth travelling Kargese first run. Kargese travelled superbly in the rain softened ground but I still think that mistake a few furlongs from home cost Storm Heart. He’s a previous winner on heavy ground and with a clear round of jumping I think he’ll take all the beating.

Selection – STORM HEART

2:10 – Dan Skelton has a superb record in this race and L’eau Du Sud can continue that. He ran superbly in heavy ground last time out finishing 2nd to Iberico Lord. He’s a winner in France on very soft ground. Dan Skelton is banging in the winners and Harry Skelton chooses this horse ahead of Faivoir who was last years winner. A little EW shout for one at massive odds – Petit Tonnerre. This horse was a running on 7th last year. He’s down 4lb from that run and with a bit of luck could sneak into a place.

Selection – L’EAU DU SUD

2:50 – Gidleigh Park, he only course winner in the field, just edges it here for me. He’s a 3m chaser in the making according to his trainer Harry Fry and if that’s the case this race could be right up is street. He’s 4-4 in the UK, all of his runs coming at galloping/testing tracks and the way he finishes his races it’s easy to see why Harry Fry is looking forward to him stepping up in trip. I think he still had a bit up his sleeve when beating Lucky Place at Cheltenham last time out and Lucky Place has since finished a staying on 4th in the Coral Cup. I think Gidleigh Park is my strongest fancy of the day at a nice price.

Selection – GIDLEIGH PARK

3:30 – Realistically if Galopin Des Champs jumps around then he more than likely wins. If there’s any horse in the field who can possibly go with him in the final furlong then it’s Gerri Colombe. Gordon Elliott has freshened him up after finished 2nd to Galopin 11 weeks ago and whenever I’ve seen this horse he’s been all about stamina. I’ll take a chance EW on him. Realistically we are playing for a place but as you have seen with El Fabiolo – anything can happen in this game.

Selection - GERRI COLOMBE

4:10 – It’s On The Line is the standout in here for me, albeit at quite short odds. He was bidding to become the first 6yo in 20 years to win this race last year when staying on strongly to finish 2nd. He’s 3-3 since that run, beating Fern’s Lock, who I think he’ll beat again based on stamina, and Billaway – who isn’t getting any younger. He’s probably short enough right now at 5/4, but I do think he’s the most likely winner.

Selection – IT’S ON THE LINE

4:50 – Whether or Dinoblue stays in very deep ground is the question and I’ve always tried to avoid those horses who have question marks over their stamina at the festival. For that reason I’m going with Limerick Lace who is a sure stayer and gets a little bit of weight from her rivals. It wouldn’t be a race I’d be going mad on.

Selection – LIMERICK LACE

5:30 – We round the festival off with a race for the conditional jockeys. Better Days Ahead is interesting having finished 4th behind Slade Steel two starts ago and then having tried to give over a stone in weight to Asian Master last time out. Slade Steel won the Supreme and Asian Master ran a cracker in the same race to finish 4th. Gordon Elliott has freshened him up with a decent break and he’s a horse who could be better than a 140 animal in time.

Selection – BETTER DAYS AHEAD

1:30 – Storm Heart
2:10 – L’eau Du Su
2:50 – Gidleigh Park
3:30 – Gerri Colombe
4:10 – It’s On The Line
4:50 – Limerick Lace
5:30 – Better Days Ahead
