When we started TheBetCommunity we had three people running things. Due to work commitments it is now only myself who runs the website and Twitter page. I’m sure you can appreciate it takes up a lot of my time. My plan is to continue as a free tipster. I enjoy researching my selections and providing winners for all of you guys. Day two kinda fell apart for me tbh. I didn’t fancy much at all and the one horse I did fancy was a late non-runner. I didn’t change my selection and I didn’t update my NAP because I didn’t fancy anything strongly enough. Day Three a busier day. See my thoughts below…

1:30 – Racing switches to the new course for the final two days. The new course has a longer run in and places a little bit more emphasis on stamina. I start with GREY DAWNING here and I think he’s probably one of my strongest fancies of the day. I think Facile Vega’s jumping will be put to a real test and the step up in trip, although will help in one regards because they’ll be going slightly slower over this longer distance, the extra fences are a chance for him to fluff his lines. Grey Dawning was an unlucky loser to Ginny’s Destiny back in December. He was attempting to give away 3lb that day and would have won but for making a mess of 2 out. I think this race will be right up his street. The quicker they go the better.

2:10 – GABBY’S CROSS is a 144 rated chaser at his best. His highest winning mark was 137 and he gets in here off a mark of 133. He’s a hold up horse, he likes to come from off a the pace and racing switching to the new course will slightly help his running style. We are going to need a bit of luck but he suits the sort of horse I like to back In this sort of race. Small bet EW.

2:50 – I’m taking a chance on STAGE STAR in the Ryanair. He was 3-3 at Cheltenham over fences before flopping on New Year’s Day. Paul Nicholls has freshened him up with a break and Stage Star has a superb record when coming off a break. This is his trip, he loves it around here, he goes from the front and he may not be pressured too much for the lead. I think he can get them all in trouble from the front and I can’t see him being out the first three home with a clear round of jumping.

3:30 – NOBLE YEATS will run into a place at least here I think and that’s a safe enough shout in what looks like a really open Stayers Hurdle. I think there’s a number of these who will go forward and make it very good test. I can’t see there being any hiding place and Noble Yeats will be running on in the final few furlongs. I think there’s a number of them who can win if I’m being completely honest so I’ll be playing just a small each-way bet.

4:10 – THEATRE MAN stands out here for me. The previous few winners of this race have raced prominently. I’m not sure if that’s a really important factor but I’ve been looking for something that will be up with the pace, jumps ok and will stay the trip. I landed on Theatre Man. He ran a nice race at Cheltenham back in January, finishing 2nd to Ginny’s Destiny. He was staying on up the hill that day and a race like this could suit.

4:50 – I dunno. The front two in the betting are clear of the rest on ratings and only 2lb splits them. I’m hoping it’s a really special race with the both of them neck and neck coming off the final bend. Elliott vs Mullins. I’ve just sided with the Elliott horse. There’s loads of noise coming out of their camp that this horse is right up there with the best they have – and that’s good enough for me. It wouldn’t be a massively confident selection, but sometimes a horse pops up like this and you’ve got to just take their word that she’s as good as what everyone is saying. 5:30 – A tough race to finish off – The Kim Muir, a race for the amateur jockeys. I’ve landed on AMIRITE. He was going for the Ultima but I expect the ground was too soft for him, so they’ve changed their plans and decided to run him here. We wouldn’t want too much rain this afternoon but providing the rain stays away I think he’ll run a big race.
