3:55 Goodwood – FOUR ADAAY

Ran well last time out over course and distance in a slightly harder race. Was kept in the centre of the course, perhaps not the quickest part of the track and wasn’t given a hard time once the jockey knew the horse was beaten. Remains on the same mark today but in a slightly easier grade. Oisin Murphy booked, he has won on this horse at this track before. The horse likes small fields and I can see Four Adaay going close.

5:30 Ripon – WADE’S MAGIC

Loads of pace in this race so I’m looking to try and take on a horse I tipped recently – Chester Le Streak. I think he’s certain to get taken on for the lead. That combined with the extra furlong, I think it’s better to look for one who has form in big fields where they go a good gallop, handles quick ground and likes to be held up off the pace. I am torn between Flavius Titus and my selection Wade’s Magic and I opted for the lower draw as I think Wade’s Magic is less likely to encounter traffic problems and can hopefully get a clean run down the outside in the final furlong. I think he’s a solid each-way bet in this.

6:00 Ripon – HURSTWOOD 

Pretty similar to the previous write up. Think they go a good gallop here, I’m looking out the back for a closer who handles quick ground. I landed on either Hurstwood or Golden Duke. I think both will be finishing fast but Hurstwood’s record on Good to Firm ground just edges me towards him. He’s 3-3 on this ground in the last 2 years, has won at Ripon twice in the the same time frame and the race looks set up for him to at least run into a place. Mark Winn takes off 3lb, he’s the only claiming jockey in the race, he’s won on this horse over course and distance previously.
