When we started TheBetCommunity we had three people running things. Due to work commitments it is now only myself who runs the website and Twitter page. I usually look for the pace horses at Kempton as I think they’re quite heavily favoured, especially if they get an easy lead on the front. I’ll continue to do the same at this card this evening. However, there could be a contested early gallop in the first race, the 5:00 on the card, and that’s where we’ll start. I have four bets that I like in total.

5:00 Kempton – Three horses went from the front last time out and this could set it up for one of those looking to come off the pace. TIME PATROL has a good draw in stall 2, much better than his draw at Lingfield last time out, and his 3rd here two starts ago looks ok form considering the 3rd placed horse has since won a race. Not a race to go mad on but TIME PATROL EW for me with Tom Marquand doing the steering.

6:00 Kempton - Next bet on the card comes in the third race. COVERT MISSION. A 3 times course and distance winner with Muscatt in the saddle. We are taking a risk with him due to the fact that both his runs this season have been below par but I’m willing to draw a line through his last run which was here four weeks ago as he had a poor draw and company on the lead. This played into the hands of horses who were held up.  A better draw today, down 2lb, good chance he gets an easier lead and he’d be my play in this one. Another EW bet.

6:30 Kempton - Looking to take on the favourite in this one. Cephalus landed a game three starts ago but has since been a beaten favourite on his next two starts. He’s 0-4 at the course, all four runs coming off a lower mark, and I don’t think the race will be run to suit. I landed on another EW bet – TARAVARA. Jack Mitchell booked. He has a very good record when riding for this trainer. Taravara has ran ok here in the past off higher marks, has ran ok coming from off a break before and the trainers horses are running well.

7:30 Kempton - Going to hope that a step back in trip and a good draw is the making of ELEANOR CROSS in the sixth race on the card. Looked the winner last time out over a slightly further trip and a step back in trip on a more galloping track could suit perfectly. A good draw in 1, I expect Murphy to sit bang in behind the pace and try to pounce on the side in the final furlong or two.
